THE PURPOSE

A place for the global Ewe - Èʋe - Èʋegbe community to:

  • share resources and knowledge for the betterment of the community +

  • honor the heritage and how to preserve the richness and goodness of the culture +

  • sustainability and prosperity of the community, language and culture +

  • gatherings just for joy and community +

  • gatherings for thoughtful communication and community.

A TRULY vibrant community

  • There are 2 membership options: General -or- Vital.

    • WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE GENERAL MEMBERSHIP:

      • You decide on the level of participation that you want to have with the community.

      • Virtual Quarterly Gatherings to discuss updates and give us feedback live.

      • Ability to sign up for Interest Groups that have an online space for conversation and they meet Live over Zoom or Google Meet for conversation and/or resource and knowledge sharing. The Groups that we have so far include:

        • Business,

        • Financial Wellness,

        • Health, Herbalism and Wellness,

        • Food, Nourishment, Cuisine,

        • Football/Soccer & Sports,

        • Ewe Current Events & Community Organizing,

        • Poetry,

        • Ewe History and Traditions,

        • Gardening and Nature,

        • Motherhood - for moms of children of all agres,

        • Fatherhood -for dads of children of all ages,

        • Sobriety Support and Healing Group - private and confidential group supporting each other in their healing journey,

        • Chess,

        • Ewe-English Book Club,

        • French-Ewe Book Club,

        • And you can always recommend a new group to start

      • Place for you to advertise your services or products to the community

      • Language Exchange Program – pair up with someone from the community who is fluent in a language you are interested in becoming fluent in

      • Academic and Career Planning Volunteers– resume review, support with essays and applications, career guidance [starting Fall 2023]

      • Academic Scholarships [starting in 2024]

      • Graduation Scholarships for those who have an upcoming graduation or just graduated [starting in 2024]

    • WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE VITAL MEMBERSHIP:

      • Vital members are held to a higher standard of participation. Because they are critical to the flow and the success of every program for this community.

      • Everything listed under General.

      • Private Signal Group – for announcements and positive messaging only from the organization. It is not a discussion group.

      • Library Program - Home Delivery Program for Books that we have available for borrowing.

      • Early Access to Special Events & Programs - Live and Virtual (e.g., cooking class, entrepreneur workshops, storytelling, childrens’ events, paint and dinner, etc.)

    • Member Announcement - to highlight accomplishments and news amongst the community.

    • [coming 2024] Annual Historic Village Heritage Day – for those who have children who have gone to school in North America, you may be familiar with Pilgrims Day. This is our take on that concept to introduce our children to our history in a fun and interactive way. We intend to schedule it in the middle of the year as that was historically the harvest season for many of our communities.

    • Language Exchange Program: where you can find someone in the community who is fluent in a language you are interested in and you can practice with them, for example, Twi, Ga, Swahili, English, French, etc.

    • Directory of Academic and Career Planning Volunteers: where you can request help with your academic or professional needs, such as university applications and essays, resume writing, interview preparation, business development, preparing for school presentation, school writing assignment, etc.

    • Academic and Professional Resources Page: section where we have gathered useful information for your academic or professional pursuits.

    • Must be respectful of other members

    • It is our intent that everyone feels safe. So there is a zero tolerance for rudeness/hate speech/discriminatory language and content [at our discretion].

    • Bullying of any kind isn't allowed, and degrading comments about things like race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity is not allowed either.

    • Strictly prohibited - sharing any form of nudity, provocative content, or anything that may cause harm to the human body.

    • Strictly prohibited – harassing other members.

    • Keep things clean and respectful. We want this to be a safe space for everyone. If you want to say anything rude or racist or homophobic then this platform and community is not for you. Our intent is that every single person feels safe when they come into our community and we have a strong community, and we cannot do that with any hate or negativity.

    • You are not permitted to copy people’s pictures without their knowledge.

    • You are not permitted to use the intellectual property of this organization or members in the community, without explicit written detailed permission.

    • No Spam. Advertising and Marketing is permitted exclusively to the page designated for that.

    • We take privacy seriously. Do not share any sensitive information like financial account numbers, national identification, etc.

    • If members do not adhere to these guidelines, you will be suspended. You will have the option to have a meeting with a member from our team to discuss the incident and discuss whether or not you and this community are a good fit at this time or if an extended suspension period is appropriate.

    • Please report any members that you see violating this code of conduct.

    • We reserve the right at our discretion and at any time to remove a member from our platform and the membership community.
